Jacinta Mackay

Jacinta Mackay is from a family of strong Wiradjuri women who have been affected by the stolen generation and as a result, had a disconnect from culture and country. She is a Registered Nurse and has a background in the ICU. She currently is at the University of Wollongong as a tutor in the nursing faculty and a PhD candidate within Ngarruwan Ngadju, the Indigenous-led health and wellbeing research centre. She is supervised by Kathleen Clapham (Ngarruwan Ngadju), Luke Molloy (School of Nursing) and Kylie Smith (Emory University). She also holds a Bachelor of Arts (history) and Master of Nursing from the University of Sydney and a Graduate Certificate in Critical Care Nursing from Griffith University. Her current research centers around how Aboriginal history can inform culturally safe nursing care.
