Ali Drummond

Dr Ali Drummond was born and raised on Weibene (Thursday Island or TI) in north Queensland, and his people are the Meriam and Erubam people of Zenadh Kes (or Torres Straits), and the Wuthathi people of Cape York Peninsula. Ali is a registered nurse, and his experience spans clinical practice, management, policy, academia, and research. He was recently appointed as the CEO of the Congress of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nurses and Midwives (CATSINaM), Australia's peak body for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nurses and midwives. Ali recently completed his PhD which investigated the experiences of Australian nursing academics who are tasked with developing and delivering nursing curricula concerning Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ health and well-being. He is the Chair of the Research Committee for the Lowitja Insitute, Australia's national Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health research institution.
