Shokoufeh Modanloo
I am an Assistant Professor at Arthur Labatt Family School of Nursing, Western University in Canada, and a Global Nursing Researcher. My research program aims to promote health justice globally, with three research goals: firstly, addressing health injustice among marginalized populations, including refugee and immigrant women and those experiencing homelessness; secondly, using a community-based participatory approach to promote nursing knowledge and practice and thirdly, developing public health initiatives that are reflective of discrimination and address health disparities at macro, meso and micro levels. In my research, I prioritize giving marginalized individuals a voice to inform healthcare policies, practices, and programs, along with a deep philosophical understanding of the sociopolitical context that creates discrimination against these individuals.
